Queen Mary University of London is one of the UK’s leading research universities, renowned for the excellence of its research and teaching, as well as its deep commitment to inclusion and improving social justice. Frequently named as one of the UK’s top universities for social mobility, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) aims to open the doors of opportunity to anyone with the potential to succeed. We combine this commitment to inclusion with our world-leading research across disciplines: in the last Government exercise to measure the excellence of research, we ranked joint-7th in the UK for the quality of our research outputs.
We embrace diversity of thought and opinion in everything we do, in the belief that when views collide, disciplines interact, and perspectives intersect, truly original thought takes form. We are seeking two talented, energetic and entrepreneurial fundraisers to join our proactive team, leading on fundraising for the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, and the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences respectively.
These roles sit within the Department of Development & Alumni Engagement (DDAE) and are responsible for managing a UK and international portfolio of current and prospective major donors (including alumni, other individual philanthropists, charitable trusts & foundations and corporations), developing relationships, soliciting major gifts and stewarding donors effectively to encourage their lasting support.
In each of these roles, as a Faculty-lead for Development, you will enjoy and contribute to a collaborative culture. You will work closely with the Head of Development, Director of DDAE, and academic and professional services colleagues to identify opportunities for philanthropy and contribute to a fundraising step-change, in support of our ambitious Strategy 2030.
With strong networking skills and the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels, you will enjoy playing a key role in an ambitious team and know what it takes to achieve excellence. In return, you will be valued as a member of QMUL’s team, and get to work with and learn from talented and committed colleagues who are all working towards a shared goal.
Please tell us if there are any reasonable adjustments we can make to help you in your application or with our recruitment process. International candidates who are interested in relocating to the UK will be considered as visa support is available for this position.
Closing date for applications: 9AM Monday 7th SEPTEMBER 2026
