This is a full-time role based in Shetland for a Senior Civil Engineer. They should ideally be Chartered, or working towards their Chartership, and will be responsible for designing and overseeing construction projects, preparing plans and technical reports, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing site supervision. Additional duties will include conducting land surveys, managing projects, creating BoQ, cost estimates, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions that meet client specifications. The role demands a proactive problem solver with a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Chartered with the ICE or IStructE
- Proficiency in Civil Engineering design principles, Structural Engineering, and familiarity with Building Inspections
- Project Management skills, including managing budgets, timelines, and client expectations
- Expertise in Land Surveying, 3D Rendering, and MatterPort Building Scanning
- Proficient using software such as AutoCAD and Trimble
- Knowledge of Planning Applications, Building Warrants, and relevant local and national regulations
- Ability to use architectural and engineering design software effectively
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities for teamwork and client interactions
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related field) and relevant professional certifications
- 5+ years of previous experience in the Engineering Sector
