Overview

Contract: Permanent | Location: Cardiff | Hours per week: 15 hours weekly (to include 2 x 7.5 hr shifts) | Working pattern: 7.5 hour shifts

Responsibilities

  • Provide 24/7 2:1 support in all areas of daily life and require extensive support with personal care, communication, mobility and rehabilitation exercises.
  • Support the client to engage in activities they love, including bowling, the cinema and music concerts.
  • Take the client to therapy appointments as required.
  • Be calm and patient under pressure with the ability to work hours flexibly and be part of an amazing team led by the client’s parents and case manager.

Ideal candidate

  • Comfortable working in a home with cats and have a compassionate attitude toward animals.
  • Enthusiastic, fun, patient and reliable; able to engage with the client and provide high-quality support.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Have experience of working with young adults who have personal care needs.
  • Have experience of working with people with significant communication impairments.
  • Be able to drive and have use of a car; willing to drive the client’s Motability van.
  • Be able to work hours flexibly.
  • Be willing to register with Social Care Wales.
  • Essential DBS check – Enhanced level.
