I’m a gentleman in my 70’S who sustained a severe brain injury several years ago, I have my own adapted property in Cwmbran and receive 2:1 support, 24 hours a day. (During the night one member of staff is awake, one member of staff is on call). I am a wheelchair user and hoisted for all transfers. I enjoy the company of others and have a good sense of humour. I like to watch TV, listen to podcasts and go out into the community, eg attending hydrotherapy.
I have complex physical and cognitive difficulties and receive input from a multi-disciplinary team of therapists. I’m unable to communicate verbally and have all my feeds via a PEG.
