An Australian-headquartered engineering group with a strong delivery record across Australia, the UK and the Middle East is expanding its presence in the UK and Dublin. With a small but growing team already established in Scotland, we’re now hiring a Senior Commercial Manager to lead our UK commercial operations.

About the RoleAs the Commercial Lead, you’ll take full responsibility for driving commercial strategy, supporting client-side infrastructure delivery, and setting up efficient processes to support project success. You’ll also play a key role in building and mentoring a local commercial team as the business grows.

Our expertise spans transport, utilities, and major civil works, with services covering the full project lifecycle from early feasibility through to delivery and commissioning. This is a hands-on role that combines technical strength in cost planning and tendering with strategic input at a business leadership level.
Key Responsibilities- Lead cost planning, estimating and commercial support for client-side infrastructure projects
- Prepare and manage competitive tenders and commercial submissions
- Work across RIBA Stages 1–4, supporting feasibility, early-stage estimating, and pre-construction activities
- Conduct take-offs, develop cost breakdowns, and provide reliable commercial advice
- Collaborate with project teams and contractors to maintain commercial control and ensure value for money
- Support the setup and development of a new office
- Recruit, mentor, and manage a growing commercial team
- Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS or equivalent)
- 10+ years’ experience, ideally across both client-side and contractor environments
- Strong technical understanding of RIBA Stages 1–4 and pre-construction planning
- Confident managing tenders, driving cost efficiencies, and supporting project delivery
- Strategic mindset with a practical, delivery-focused approach
- Ambition to lead, grow a team, and take ownership of commercial operations
