Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site Area Manager role based in the Greater Glasgow Area. The Area Manager will oversee multiple cleaning contracts and sites, ensuring that services are delivered to agreed standards, within budget, and on schedule. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include supervising and supporting site supervisors and cleaning teams, scheduling and allocating staff, and monitoring performance and quality across all locations. The role involves regular site visits, conducting inspections, handling client queries, and proactively resolving any operational issues. The Area Manager will also assist with onboarding and training new staff, managing supplies and equipment, and preparing basic reports on performance, costs, and compliance with company procedures.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or area management role, ideally within cleaning, facilities management, or a similar service‑based environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management abilities, including team motivation, performance management, and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple sites simultaneously.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and suppliers.
  • Comfortable working on‑site, conducting inspections, and addressing operational issues in a practical, hands‑on manner.
  • Basic proficiency with digital tools for scheduling, reporting, and email communication.
  • Full, valid UK driving licence and the ability to travel between sites within the Greater Glasgow Area.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and best practices in a cleaning or facilities environment is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in contract management, budgeting, or cost control is beneficial.
