About the Team

The Business Development & Marketing team is comprised of two teams: Business Development (Sectors and Practices) and Marketing Communications. The Marketing Communications team delivers a range of core firm wide services including digital marketing and brand management, design, marketing tech, events management, marketing data/reporting, internal and external communications. The Business Development teams provide a broad range of strategic and day to day marketing and business development support as well as managing a range of cross-practice and firm-wide initiatives.

About the Role

The Digital Media role is a key role in managing the growing demand and essential need to deliver our content to market more creatively and efficiently. Sitting within the marketing communications team the role reports into the Brand and Design Manager and has a wide remit to deliver exciting content across the spectrum of marketing channels used by the firm. The role is part of a wider Business Development and Marketing function working closely with the various teams across the firm, in London and further afield, to develop our marketing offering. Primarily the role will focus on the core area of podcasting but will also lead on videography, animation and interactive and immersive content both online and in‑person at events. This importantly not only touches on the core marketing channels (events, web, socials etc.), it also involves formats such as pitches and elements of e-learning. The role is expected to be fluent in the visual brand as well as our tone of voice and to ensure they advocate for all our media content to be on brand and reflective of the firm.

About You

You will have a professional manner, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and have previous experience working within an office. You’ll have a flexible nature and will enjoy working within a fast‑paced team, and will be highly organised.

  • At least 5 years experience creating video and audio content
  • Previous experience working in an in‑house role is desirable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of work and managing agency time/spend

Responsibilities

Podcasts

  • In conjunction with the Brand and Design Manager, develop our podcast strategy with a particular view on developing the format beyond the current limitations.
  • Manage the existing range of podcast equipment, including distributing to internal and external clients when a recording is remote or hybrid.
  • Define the podcast recording process, providing clear guidance on the best practices and communication plans when liaising with external guests.
  • Run the podcast recordings alongside our BD team, both in person recordings and those that are remote and/or hybrid.
  • Working with our BD and marketing team, manage the edits and production of our episodes once they are recorded, including releasing them through our various channels.
  • Produce the podcast artworks, evolving our podcast channels and identities and produce the podcast audio (intros/outros/jingles).
  • Work with the digital marketing team to report on the performance of our podcasts, ensuring the data forms part of our wider marketing analytics reporting alongside our other content formats.

Videography and animation

  • Video production and editing manage the filming and production of all video work ensuring the content to market is consistently on brand.
  • Utilise existing video footage to repurpose across our marketing channels to keep our client experience fresh throughout the course of the year.
  • Lead the development of our animation capabilities, creating animations alongside our design agency from scratch in accordance with our stakeholders as well as maintaining and evolving our existing animations both via agency and in‑house.
  • Create a consistent design language for our animations and video assets, particularly in the transitions and styles consistent with the tone across all of our videos.
  • Pitch videos film and produce videos for pitching, sometimes on short notice, working closely with the BD team and fee‑earners.

Events

  • Working closely with our Events Manager, develop our events offering to introduce more interactive and immersive experiences for clients.
  • Act as the go‑to‑person for our large external conferences to support in delivering their video, audio and interactive content needs, working with multiple stakeholder groups including fee‑earners, BD, marketing and external event AV teams.
  • Leverage the latest equipment installed in our London office to deliver better event experiences, for example using our new Tricaster system.

Social media

  • Working closely with the marketing communications team, help to develop the consistent use of video and animation work across our social media channels, including but not limited to GIFs, animations, audiograms and more, with a particular focus on enabling the firm to move into more creative social channels such as Instagram and Tik Tok.

Advisory and training

  • Help to guide and educate our marketing and business development team on the best formats for use in line with their content and campaign plans.
  • Organise training for teams on presenting, speaking in videos and podcasts and the differences between them, what works and what doesn’t.

Futureproofing

  • Understand and source the appropriate equipment, where needed, to fulfil the role. This includes the hardware as well as working with our IT team to adopt the required software.
  • Develop our AI capabilities understand how we can adopt generative AI technologies to make our processes more efficient, as well as exploit new opportunities in artwork production. This will include visual and audio production or exploring new formats such as the use of avatars the more creative, the better.
  • Identify new marketing channels and new opportunities within our existing channels to do things better, ensure that we stand out from the rest of the market.
