About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Design Manager to join a growing project delivery team. This is a fast-paced role where you’ll manage multiple live projects simultaneously, ensuring design packages are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

You’ll work closely with internal design teams, project managers, surveyors, site teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders to ensure design information is coordinated effectively and projects run smoothly from concept through to delivery. This role will involve regular travel to project sites and meetings with clients, consultants, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the design process across multiple live projects from pre-construction through to delivery
  • Coordinate design programmes to ensure deadlines are met
  • Produce and manage design status reports
  • Allocate workload and hours across design resources
  • Raise and manage RFIs (Requests for Information)
  • Coordinate technical submissions and sample approvals
  • Ensure site surveys are completed where required
  • Review project programmes and report on progress
  • Attend design development meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Review drawings to ensure alignment with architectural specifications and project requirements
  • Manage drawing revisions and ensure teams are working from the latest approved versions
  • Ensure drawings are updated in line with project comments until final approval is achieved
  • Raise material requisitions and cutting lists where required
  • Maintain compliance with health & safety, environmental, and quality procedures
  • Support project teams in identifying design risks and resolving issues proactively

About You

We’re looking for someone who is highly organised, solutions-focused, and confident managing multiple priorities.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a Design Manager role within construction, fit-out, manufacturing, or a related industry
  • Strong understanding of design coordination and project delivery processes
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive and problem-solving mindset
  • Leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams

Desirable Skills

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:
