About the Role
We’re currently recruiting for an experienced SHEQ Advisor on behalf of our client. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional who is passionate about maintaining the highest standards in Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality compliance. In this role, you’ll be responsible for implementing SHEQ policies, supporting ISO accreditations (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001), and working closely with management teams to ensure a safe and compliant working environment across all operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and review Health, Safety & Wellbeing, Environmental, and Quality Management policies.
- Assist in preparing Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Safety Plans.
- Conduct SHEQ inspections and accident investigations to a high standard.
- Liaise with enforcement agencies and relevant bodies on SHEQ matters.
- Support compliance with CDM Regulations and contractor approvals.
- Provide SHEQ advice and guidance across the business.
- Investigate and report incidents in line with RIDDOR regulations.
- Undertake site and office audits, inductions, and basic training (subject to qualifications).
- Complete client and SSIP Health & Safety questionnaires.
- Carry out DSE assessments and face-fit testing.
- Attend CPD events and relevant training.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential:
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
- Construction-related Degree/HND or trade background.
- Relevant CSCS Card.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desired (but not essential):
- First Aid at Work.
- Scaffold Inspection.
- Teaching Qualification.
- Appointed Person certification.
- Environmental qualification (ISEP or similar).
- Tech IOSH membership.
Experience
- Proven experience in a similar SHEQ role within construction or civil engineering.
- Strong understanding of groundworks and civil engineering practices.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
