Overview

The Senior Print Designer will lead the Print and Textiles team, overseeing the creative development, production and delivery of print and textile designs across seasonal collections.

This is a hands-on design role combined with day-to-day leadership of the team. It covers workload planning, project allocation, deadlines, performance and team development. Working closely with the Art Director and Creative Director, the Senior Print Designer will translate the creative vision for each collection into compelling print and textile solutions.

The successful candidate will bring strong creative and technical expertise, together with excellent leadership, organisation and communication skills. They will manage projects effectively from initial concept through development to final production.

The role

  • Lead the Print and Textiles team, managing day-to-day workflow, priorities, workload allocation and deadlines across multiple seasonal projects.
  • Create and oversee the development of original prints, patterns, graphics and textile concepts for each seasonal collection, making sure they reflect the brand’s creative identity and the overall collection vision.
  • Work closely with the Art Director and Creative Director to understand the creative direction of each collection, and turn it into a clear strategy and direction for the team.
  • Present print and textile concepts, developments and final designs to the Art Director and Creative Director, responding to feedback and managing revisions through to final approval.
  • Collaborate with all relevant internal teams throughout development and production, resolving technical or quality issues where needed.
  • Review and approve the quality, colour, scale, placement and accuracy of print and textile designs throughout development and production.
  • Spot potential development or production issues early, and work with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve them.
  • Ensure the team keeps accurate, well-organised records of working files, final artwork, technical information and approvals.
  • Encourage collaboration, creativity and knowledge-sharing within the team, while setting clear expectations around quality, deadlines and accountability.
  • Take direct responsibility for the team’s performance and development, including setting objectives, giving regular feedback, carrying out performance reviews and supporting each person’s professional growth.

The candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Print Design or a related discipline.
  • Significant end-to-end professional experience in print and textile design, ideally within luxury or high-end fashion.
  • Proven experience managing or leading a creative design team, including organising workloads, setting priorities and supporting individual performance and development.
  • An outstanding portfolio showing sophisticated, innovative print, pattern, graphic and textile design across a range of product categories.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator, with a good working knowledge of InDesign.
  • Excellent understanding of colour, print engineering, repeats, placement artwork, textile construction and garment application.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of textile and surface design processes, including digital printing, screen printing, embroidery and knitwear.
  • Solid experience communicating with suppliers and mills, preparing artwork and technical specifications, and managing production approvals.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, maintaining high creative and technical standards across a large volume of projects.
  • A confident communicator who can clearly articulate creative direction and work effectively with senior creative leadership, designers, developers, production teams, mills and suppliers.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused, with strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to make decisions when facing creative, technical or production challenges.
  • A keen awareness of contemporary fashion, art, culture and design, and an understanding of the brand’s visual identity.
  • Experience with 3D design, textile visualisation or other relevant digital design software would be an advantage.
