We are looking for an organised and motivated Trims Developer to join the team. This role would be responsible for the development cycle of all trims across Apparel and Accessories, reporting to the Senior Fabric & Trim Developer.
The role:
- Develop new trims in line with critical path, ensuring developments meet target pricing while balancing creativity, commercial awareness and quality.
- Attending trade fairs and meeting with suppliers to collate trim research for both seasonal and carryover requests.
- Track and report on spend each season.
- Create and update physical and digital trim boards.
- Translate design requests and artworks into detailed technical specs for suppliers.
- Place trim orders and follow tracking for all deliveries to meet ex-mill dates.
- Add all order information to the work management system and keep updated for the wider teams.
- Identify opportunities to incorporate sustainable developments where possible, requesting eco-friendly materials and certification .
- Collate all pricing and technical information and ensure timely and accurate entry of data into PLM system.
- Track and report on spend each season.
- Handover of all raw material details to the Production team at the end of each season.
- Collaborate closely with Production team to request bulk feedback amendments when required.
- Collating trim base test reports and organising appropriate lab testing to flag potential areas of risk.
- Maintaining the trim inventory and archives.
- Track stock levels of all trims both seasonal and carryover, and proactively replenish as necessary.
The candidate:
- Minimum 3 years experience
- Excellent level of technical trim knowledge
- Strong CAD skills
- Good knowledge and contacts of trim suppliers across the Far East and Europe
- Experience of working within accessories would be an advantage
