Position Overview
This role is based within the Lung Unit at The Royal Marsden Hospital, which is world renowned for excellence in clinical care and clinical research. Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellow in Lung Cancers. This is an 11.5 month clinical research fellowship, with possibility of extension.
Eligibility Requirements
To fulfil the requirements of the post, applicants must be eligible for full GMC registration, hold a national training number in a relevant specialty and MRCP equivalent.
Training and Development
This post provides considerable postgraduate training in medical and multidisciplinary aspects of the treatment of thoracic malignancies, exposing the Clinical Fellow to a wide range of clinical challenges, current clinical research, and state‑of‑the‑art clinical paradigms. Within The Royal Marsden/Institute of Cancer Research there is a strong emphasis on postgraduate teaching. In‑house meetings involve lectures, seminars, formal journal clubs and tutorials in both clinical and laboratory medicine, the latter often in association with the Institute of Cancer Research. Lectures and special meetings are routinely advertised. Research Fellows are encouraged to attend clinical conferences and courses. Study leave is granted for these activities and some funding may be provided. The writing of scientific manuscripts is actively encouraged.
