Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Carwood Birmingham remanufacturing office. The role requires a creative and "outside the box" individual to support product development, support product obsolesence via. reverse engineering and optimise production with various assembly jigs/fixtures.
This role requires an individual with experience in the following:
- Design experience using CAD software (Catia, Solidworks, Fusion 360, Spaceclaim etc…)
- Creation of techincal drawings
- Experience in geometric design and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience in concept design/drawings for low volume manufacturing and understanding constraints.
- Reverse engineering experience.
- Ability to liaise with manufacturing suppliers on technical questions related to design.
- Experience in CAD repository and PLM systems desirable.
- Ability to use manual engineering measurement tools and electronic CMM tools.
Qualifications
- Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Product Design skills.
- Experience in Machine Design and working with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Previous experience in automotive or defense industries is a bonus.
