Carver Engineering is seeking a skilled and reliable Welder to join our growing fabrication team. The successful candidate will have previous welding experience within a steelwork, fabrication, or construction environment. This role requires a strong focus on quality, safety, and productivity while working in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out MIG welding on mild steel components to engineering specifications
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols
  • Prepare materials prior to welding, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and structural standards
  • Work closely with fabricators and other team members to meet production deadlines
  • Use welding equipment and tools safely and correctly
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a welder in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Competence in MIG welding (other welding processes an advantage)
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
  • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices
  • Physically fit and able to work in an industrial environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions

  • Industrial workshop environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and dust
  • Physically demanding role involving standing for long periods
  • Shift work may be required depending on operational needs
  • Pay range subject to shift pattern – Monday to Friday 8 hour shift with overtime and weekends available
  • 24 days annual leave
