Steel Fettler / Labourer

We are seeking a reliable Steel Fettler / Labourer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in fabrication, specifically within the steelwork or construction industry. This role requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Use grinding, sanding, and cutting tools to remove burrs, weld spatter, and rough edges from steel components.
• Operate hand tools and power tools such as angle grinders, files, chisels, and saws.
• Inspect fabricated parts to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerances.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Assist welders and fabricators in preparing materials for further processing.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work as part of a team to meet production targets and deadlines.

Requirements

• Experience in fettling, grinding, or metal finishing (preferred).
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
• Understanding of workplace safety procedures, especially in a manufacturing setting.
• Physical fitness to handle manual work, including lifting and standing for long periods.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Working Conditions

• The role involves working in an industrial setting, which may include exposure to loud noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
• Physical stamina is essential as the role involves manual labor and extended periods of standing.
• May involve shift work depending on company requirements.

Monday to Friday

8 hour shift with overtime and weekends available

24 days annual leave
