Overview

As Service Manager you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of two support services where six gentlemen live with varying interests. You will provide motivational leadership and direction to your team, enabling them to provide quality, person‑centred support to the people we support and proactively engage with the continued development of the service.

Responsibilities

  • Day‑to‑day operation and management of two support services where six gentlemen live with varying interests.
  • Provide motivational leadership, direction and coaching to the team to deliver quality, person‑centred support.
  • Facilitate positive relationships with stakeholders and implement the company's vision and values.
  • Carry out frequent reviews of support requirements, including service delivery plans, support plans, progress logs and risk assessments following person‑centred and relationship‑centred Active Support principles and practices.
  • Manage a team of support workers, overseeing all aspects of team management and development.
  • Encourage and coach the team to creatively problem‑solve and develop.
  • Focus on achieving the highest levels of support and independence for the people we support, making everyday remarkable.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience supporting people with learning difficulties in a social care setting.
  • Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care (or actively working towards or willing to pursue one).
  • A strong caring nature to support others to live an enriched life and fulfil their potential.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to influence others.
  • Working knowledge of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and provide cover as required.
  • Welsh language skills to communicate with Welsh‑speaking service users and meet their cultural and linguistic needs.
