Come and make a real difference: we’re looking for a Female Assistant Service Manager - Homecare to help make everyday remarkable for our friendly team in Bridgend. We are dedicated to supporting adults to live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community, and as an Assistant Service Manager, you can play a vital role in this.

Role: Female Assistant Service Manager - Homecare

Location: Covering homes and services in the Bridgend area

Hours: 37 (Your shift pattern will include weekends)

Salary: £29,149.91 pa and our sleep-in shifts at £60 per night; travel expenses paid at 55p per mile

Contract: Permanent

What you’ll be doing: In this role, you’ll work alongside the Service Manager to ensure the delivery of a safe, high-quality, person-centred homecare service. As an Assistant Service Manager (ASM), you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the service, supporting both colleagues and the people we support to achieve the highest levels of independence and wellbeing within their own homes and communities. You’ll be visible within the service, providing guidance and leadership to care staff while ensuring care is delivered in line with individual support plans, regulatory requirements and best practice. Supporting people with a range of needs, including older adults and individuals living with dementia, you’ll help promote dignity, choice and independence through person-centred care. Working on a rota basis, you’ll assist with service coordination, quality monitoring, staff supervision and performance management. In the absence of the Service Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service, including leading the team, conducting one-to-ones and appraisals, facilitating team meetings, and ensuring safe and effective service delivery. By building positive relationships with colleagues, families and stakeholders, you’ll help create a caring, supportive environment that enables people to live well at home and make everyday remarkable.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience supporting people with learning difficulties in a social care setting
  • Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or actively working towards)
  • A strong caring nature to support others to live an enriched life and fulfil their potential
  • A working knowledge and understanding of the Care Council for Wales Code of Practice
  • Flexibility to work shifts and provide cover as required
  • Full driving licence - essential and happy to travel for meetings and training
  • Access to your own car and happy to use this for transporting people we support to and from activities, as well as obtaining business insurance for your vehicle
