Here at Cartrefi Cymru we support adults with learning disabilities and vulnerable adults in the community to live a fulfilled and enriched life. This year we are celebrating 35 years and have lots of exciting plans for the future! We support people all over Wales and the support we provide is person centred and ensures choice and control.
Location: Valley, Anglesey
Hours: Part time 25 hours per week, this will be a mix of day shifts and sleep ins. It’s possible to pick up additional shifts for those who want it to work across our other services locally.
Salary: £12.74 per hour and our sleep-in shifts at £60 per night. If you use your own vehicle to attend training for example, we cover mileage at 45p per mile.

What you’ll be doing:
In this role you’ll be supporting 1 female in her own home, though nonverbal she always finds different ways to communicate with us. You’ll encourage her to make her own choices about everyday things such as what to wear, what to do, what to eat, as well as bigger decisions such as where to live, how to spend money or where to go on holiday for example. The female you’ll be supporting enjoys going to structured activities such as day services, community events, discos but also unstructured such as shopping, lunches and wheelchair walks. Our goal is to empower individuals to live their best life, providing support tailored to their unique needs and preferences. This really is a fun and rewarding role for the right person. This role involves personal care.
Who we’re looking for:
- No experience is required, full training is provided.
- You are female - to meet the need of this service.
- You have patience and empathy.
- You can support a person with their intimate personal care with respect and dignity.
- You have strong communication and teamwork skills.
- You are able to speak on behalf of others as well as to a range of professional people.
- You have good written skills and the ability to record events with empathy and meaning.
- You’ll also have a UK driver’s licence. The ability to drive is essential for this role as you’ll be driving the female we support’s own car.
