Join Cartref Homes and make a difference in the lives of adults with Intellectual Disabilities as a Nights Support Worker. We provide exceptional support to adults with moderate intellectual disabilities, autism, and complex mental health conditions. These individuals often face challenges in interpersonal relationships and struggle with emotional regulation which can significantly impact their daily lives, work, and relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Attending to the needs of our service users should they wake during the night
- Maintaining a clean and tidy home environment
- Completing necessary record keeping.
Training and Role:
Although the Night Support Worker role involves less direct interaction with service users, we are committed to providing you with the same high level of training as any other employee. This training will equip you with the essential skills and experiences to excel in your role.
Shift Details:
4 shifts a week, time start: 9:45pm end: 07:45
Qualifications and Skills:
- Kindness and patience: Demonstrating empathy and understanding towards our service users.
- Open-mindedness and willingness to learn: Embracing new approaches and techniques to provide the best support.
- Resilience and problem-solving energy: Being able to handle challenges and find effective solutions.
- A keen sense of fun: Bringing positivity and enjoyment to the lives of our service users.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Care Certificate (not essential): Possessing or willing to obtain the Care Certificate to enhance your knowledge and skills.
- Past experience of assisting people with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviour (preferable): Having prior experience in supporting individuals with special needs will be advantageous.
- Full UK Driving License (preferred but not essential)
