We’re looking for a practical, customer-focused engineer to work with modern, exciting robotics and automation technology used in advanced industrial environments. This role is well suited to engineers with core electro-mechanical maintenance knowledge, including those earlier in their career who are keen to learn and develop skills in robotics, automation, and PLC-based systems. Structured training and hands-on support will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity to grow into a specialist automation role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Installing and commissioning robotic and automated systems
- Carrying out service work and preventative maintenance on automation equipment
- Providing breakdown support both onsite and remotely
- Fault-finding across electrical, mechanical, and control systems
- Learning to diagnose and fault-find PLC-controlled systems (training provided)
- Delivering customer training and onsite support
- Working safely and in line with all Health & Safety procedures
- Maintaining clear service and job documentation
- Supporting wider operational activities as required
The Candidate
This role is open to engineers with varying levels of experience, provided they bring the right foundation and attitude. You may be a good fit if you have:
- A basic to intermediate understanding of electro-mechanical maintenance
- Experience working with industrial machinery, production equipment, or similar systems
- A genuine willingness to learn automation, robotics, and PLC fault-finding
- A conscientious, reliable approach and strong attention to detail
- Good problem-solving skills and a methodical mindset
- The ability to work independently while maintaining quality and safety standards
- A positive, professional attitude when working with customers onsite
- Flexibility around working hours and travel
You’ll also need to be:
- Happy to travel regularly across the UK.
- Willing to travel to Europe for training and product updates
- Comfortable with periods away from home as part of a field-based role
