We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and integration of electrical and automation systems. You will be responsible for hardware selection, on-site electrical requirements, and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards. This is a hands-on, varied position with opportunities to contribute across design, development, commissioning, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical and automation systems, including incoming power, power distribution, HMIs, and control systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and implement safety interlocks and emergency shutdown systems.
- Create and maintain technical documentation such as schematics, control logic diagrams, and operating manuals.
- Train and support operators, maintenance teams, and junior engineers.
- Identify and deliver performance improvements, cost reductions, and system enhancements.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans.
- Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Specify and support the procurement of electrical components and assemblies.
- Provide technical input for RFQ reviews and system concept definition.
- Support project managers, production teams, and commissioning engineers.
- Work in accordance with industry standards (NEC, ISO, IEC).
- Apply strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail throughout all project stages.
Experience Required
- Degree or equivalent in Electrical or Automation Engineering.
- Proficiency with EPLAN and AutoCAD Electrical.
- Ideally Beckhoff automation technology experience.
- Project management capability.
This role offers excellent rates of pay and includes an 8% company contribution, 34 days' holiday, including bank holidays. You will be working 40 hours per week - Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00, and Friday: 08:00 – 14:00.
