We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a dynamic and innovative engineering business. This is an exciting, hands-on role involving the assembly, fitting, and installation of a wide range of mechanical systems and machinery, working from detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble, fit, and install mechanical components and machinery in line with technical drawings and build schedules.
- Carry out machine build, fitting of pneumatics, bearings, shafts, motors, couplings, and other precision components.
- Ensure all machinery is assembled and completed in accordance with safety and quality standards, adhering to British, European, and International regulations.
- Conduct functional and quality checks, identifying and resolving mechanical or alignment issues.
- Work collaboratively as part of a skilled team while maintaining the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Support continuous improvement in build efficiency and quality.
Requirements:
- Time-served Mechanical Fitter or equivalent engineering apprenticeship/qualification.
- Strong mechanical assembly and machine build experience (automation or special-purpose machinery advantageous).
- Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical engineering drawings and assembly schematics.
- Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics preferred.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
Hours:
Monday-Thursday: 8:00am-4:30pm
Friday: 8:00am-1:30pm
