As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will:
- Produce accurate, functional, and cost–effective electrical system designs using CAD software
- Translate customer requirements from discussions and technical documents into designs
- Create functional design specifications, system manuals, and other customer documentation
- Develop 2D layout drawings for electrical panel builds and system I/O layouts
- Liaise with suppliers to select appropriate components
- Produce accurate bills of materials (BOMs)
- Support commissioning teams to ensure successful FAT and SAT
- Perform design calculations (manually or with software) to verify performance and suitability
- Collaborate with wider design teams to improve processes and participate in design reviews
Who We’re Looking For:
- HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
- Strong experience with electrical design software (training on Eplan provided)
- Skilled in hand calculations for drive systems, electrical loadings, and current ratings
- Excellent communication skills, time management, and ability to prioritise tasks
- Previous experience in bespoke or special–purpose machine building and design
- Comfortable liaising with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
- Knowledge of UKCA/CE technical file creation, functional safety, and SISTEMA experience
