Due to an internal promotion and continued growth, our client is expanding their established service team and has an exciting opportunity for a Service Engineer. We welcome applications from experienced engineers with a strong background in CNC service, as well as ambitious engineers looking to further develop their careers within the sector.

The position of CNC Service Engineer will include:

  • Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for working on multi-axis CNC lathes and sliding head machines.
  • Installation of CNC machines and bar feed equipment.
  • Attending breakdowns and diagnosing faults.
  • Mechanical, electrical and PLC fault finding.
  • Repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance.
  • Machine alignments and accuracy checks.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering and electrical drawings.
  • Providing telephone technical support to customers when required.
  • This is a field-based role requiring extensive travel across the UK and Eire, including regular nights away.

The suitable candidate for CNC Service Engineer will need to possess the following skills and experience:

  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.
  • Proven diagnostic fault-finding experience.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with Fanuc control systems.
  • Experience working on multi-axis CNC lathes (essential).
  • Sliding head experience (advantageous – full product training provided).
  • Good customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
