Position: Lead Electrical Design Engineer Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 Commutable from: Kidderminster, Redditch, Hereford, Worcester, Bromsgrove, Droitwich, Birmingham, Evesham and Pershore My client is a well-established engineering company that designs, manufactures, and supplies a range of bespoke test equipment and systems. As a Lead Electrical Design Engineer, you will manage electrical design projects from initial concept to delivery, create detailed electrical designs and provide technical support. You will also be responsible for managing a small team. Key skills required for the Lead Electrical Design Engineer: Designing, specifying, analysing and implementation of machine safety systems. Producing electrical control system designs for a variety of projects including special purpose machinery Understanding project requirements and producing schematic diagrams, hook-up diagrams and build instructions using CAD for Production. Estimating material and manufacturing costs including creation of BOM's. Adhering to project timelines. Working with the internal purchasing department and external suppliers to ensure procurement of critical components. Contribute to risk assessment and good safety practices by maintaining an awareness of activities and reporting on potential areas of risk. Carry out feasibility studies for new products and technical innovations. Assisting in coordinating other technical team resources. Creation of testing, installation and commissioning procedures and analysing data. Key experience required for the Lead Electrical Design Engineer: Previous experience working in an Electrical Design Engineer role. Strong background in automated machinery, instrumentation and test equipment would be advantageous. Must be a team player. Excellent communication skills are a must.
