Are you driven by a passion for spearheading industry-leading business development? Do you excel at building relationships with clients across the TMT landscape? Cartesian is recruiting a Vice President to join the leadership of our global TMT Strategy practice, based in London. This is a new business role at a critical time for the communications sector and an exciting time for Cartesian.
You will build and develop new client business across the UK and EMEA, and you will deliver what you sell: shaping each project, leading the team, and delivering to the client from kick-off to close. You will serve multiple client accounts with responsibility for both business development and engagement leadership. You will also help lead the EMEA and Global practice, including thought leadership, recruitment, and the mentoring of our people. It is a chance to create your own space in an entrepreneurial environment: developing your own approach and seeing it through to success, with the backing of a larger group behind you.
About Cartesian and Bounteous: Cartesian is a specialist consulting firm with over 35 years of experience serving the global telecommunications, media, and technology (TMT) sectors. We partner with clients worldwide to design and implement practical strategies, data-driven transformations, and technology solutions that drive growth and operational efficiency. Our expertise spans analytics, strategy, technical services, content security, and management consulting. In 2026 Cartesian was acquired by Bounteous, a global AI services company.
About the team: Our Strategy & Analytics team partners with companies and investors in TMT to uncover opportunities and drive performance. We combine strategic thinking, deep data insight, and technical expertise on critical client challenges. Our work spans capital deployment, technical and commercial due diligence, sales optimisation, operational efficiency, policy and regulatory analysis, financial modelling, data science, and more. We have a strong track record in due diligence and deal support, and we want to build on it.
The role: This is a new business role. You will hunt for, win, and deliver strategy consulting work across the telecoms, communications, and media sector, opening greenfield clients and leveraging our brand and proposition set to build a pipeline across the territory against ambitious growth targets. Because you deliver what you sell, you will scope and shape engagements, lead the project team day to day, and stay accountable for quality and client outcomes. You will be an integral part of a business development community that values collaboration over individual performance, and you will bring learnings and improvement ideas from your career. Note - this is not a software or solution-selling role.
Responsibilities
- Understand the market: Stay close to the TMT sector and its challenges, and quickly work out how Cartesian's propositions apply, evolving them where needed.
- Find opportunities: Own the new logo and white-space plan for the UK and EMEA, build and orchestrate the pipeline, and open greenfield accounts through your network and the marketing strategy that supports it.
- Sell and deliver: Build trusted relationships with senior executives, shape proposals, negotiate, and close. Then deliver what you sell: scope the project, lead the team day to day, and take accountability for quality, timelines, and client outcomes.
- Make a difference inside the business: Help lead the EMEA and Global Strategy practice: bring new business discipline, contribute thought pieces, recruit, and mentor the team.

- 10-15+ years of relevant experience, with at least half spent delivering strategy consulting engagements.
- Proven track record of 5+ years selling strategy consulting services, including winning new logos against ambitious targets.

- Content expertise in one or more TMT areas (for example Mobile, IoT, Datacentres, Cloud, Networks, B/OSS, Operations), with strong awareness of the challenges facing the industry and the ability to turn them into consulting opportunities.
- Broad commercial and financial acumen and a record of managing complex negotiations and client and procurement onboarding.
- Proven project leadership: a track record of shaping engagements, leading consulting teams, and delivering high-quality work to clients, especially in complex, high-pressure situations.
- A credible thought leader who communicates well with industry veterans, champions, and SMEs; first-rate communication and presentation skills; strong analytical capability.
