Join a newly established quant hub backed by one of the world's leading trading firms, building the systems that sit at the heart of the trading desk. This is a visible, hands-on role where your applications land directly in front of traders and quants, and where well-built software translates straight into trading performance. You'll have real ownership early, with the support of an experienced team of quants and developers around you.
What you’ll do:
- Engineer robust, dependable software that keeps the desk trading at full speed — spanning backend services through to trader-facing tools.
- Work side by side with quants and the trading desk, turning their needs into robust, production-grade applications with genuine commercial impact.
- Get your work in front of the desk directly — gathering feedback, iterating fast and shaping how the trading team operates.
- Take ownership of features end to end: design, implementation, testing and rollout.
- Contribute across the stack — strong backend engineers willing to learn the frontend (React) are very welcome.
- Raise the bar on engineering standards: clean, maintainable code built to last, not research throwaways.
What you’ll need:
- 2–5 years of professional software development experience with strong technical fundamentals.
- Excellent C# — or strong C++/Java with the appetite to switch — and the engineering discipline to build systems a trading desk depends on.
- React experience a plus; if not, a real willingness to learn the frontend.
- Outstanding communication skills — you’ll be working directly with traders and quants daily, so you need to explain, listen and push back with confidence.
- Initiative and energy: someone outgoing who spots problems and fixes them without waiting to be asked.
- A genuine interest in finance and markets — prior finance experience helpful but not required.
- Top academics: strong A-levels and a 2:1 or above from a leading university (or international equivalent) in a technical discipline.
