Sales Capability Manager – Contract role

My client is a leading private University specializing in creative industries education, including music, film, performing arts, media, and creative technology. It is known for its industry-connected approach, offering students real-world experiences and access to professional networks.

They are currently looking to bring in a Sales Capability Manager to work with the Sales Admission teams.

Job Title: Sales Capability Manager – Higher Education Admissions

Location: Brighton 2 days per week

Duration: Minimum end of Jan 2026

Position Summary:

The Sales Capability Manager plays a pivotal role in enhancing the performance and effectiveness of the admissions and sales teams within the higher education sector. This role focuses on developing and implementing sales strategies, training programs, tools, and processes that drive student enrollment growth and improve conversion rates across the admissions funnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable sales capability frameworks tailored to higher education admissions.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align sales strategies with institutional goals and enrollment targets.
  • Analyze sales performance data to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for admissions counselors and sales teams, focusing on consultative selling, objection handling, CRM usage, and compliance.
  • Create onboarding programs for new hires to ensure rapid ramp-up and productivity.
  • Evaluate and refine admissions processes to improve lead conversion, student engagement, and overall efficiency.
  • Introduce best practices in lead nurturing, follow-up cadence, and pipeline management.
  • Partner with IT and CRM teams to ensure sales tools (Salesforce) are optimized for admissions workflows.
  • Lead adoption of new technologies that enhance sales productivity and student experience.
  • Establish KPIs and dashboards to monitor team performance and individual effectiveness.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to admissions staff based on performance metrics and call reviews.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in sales enablement, capability development, or admissions leadership.
  • Proven track record of driving sales performance in a higher education or service-based environment.
  • Strong understanding of CRM systems and data analytics.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with student lifecycle management and enrollment marketing is an advantage but not required.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards in higher education admissions is an advantage.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and academic departments.
