Carter Murray are pleased to be exclusively partnering with a dynamic and innovative retail and e-commerce brand who are looking to expand their creative division with an experienced retail Packing and POS Designer. Our client has been in business for around 10 years and are known for their commitment to sustainability and are proud that all of their products are developed cruelty-free.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Packaging: Deliver exceptional creative solutions, ensuring alignment with brand ethos and project goals. Collaborate closely with the design team for seamless project execution. Oversee the transition of ideas from concept to production while safeguarding creative intent. Responsible for effective physical reproduction of packaging through viable design, creating technical keylines to scale/product dimensions. Meticulous use of purposeful typography and type-setting rules. Edit, color-correct, mask, clone, and airbrush photography or imagery to ensure quality, resolution, and color settings for print. Embed and layer keylines, artwork layers, color layers, and special finishes such as spot colors, die-cut lines, and varnish or foil finishes to pre-press as per print industry methods.
  • POS: Concept and prepare artwork for large format prints such as technical FSDU units, end-caps, shelving hotspots, wobbles, barkers, bus-stops, ticket talkers, and shelf flags. Create technical keylines to scale/product dimensions for merchandising and retail industry standards. Create retail mock-ups and concepts for shelving and secondary sites. Edit, color-correct, mask, clone, and airbrush photography or imagery to ensure quality, resolution, and color settings for print. Embed and layer keylines, artwork layers, color layers, and special finishes such as spot colors, die-cut lines, varnish, or foil finishes to pre-press as per print industry methods.
  • Digital and Marketing: Edit and creatively manipulate photography, color-correct, mask, clone, and airbrush to ensure quality, resolution, and color settings for digital use. Format for gifs/animations/videos. Concept campaign graphics, slogans, and creative idea generation in collaboration with Creative and Marketing teams.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Advanced technical skills in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • A strong instinct for brand identity, along with hands-on sketching and typography skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with high attention to detail.
  • An agile and flexible person with a strong packaging design background (ideally within the beauty/health industry).
  • Experience with Asana or other project management tools is beneficial.
  • Expertise in printing processes and packaging technologies.
  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Haves:

  • Photography skills.
  • Experience with Figma/3D/CAD.
  • Retail POS and pop-up design experience.
  • Content creation for social media.
  • Creation of VM guidelines.
