What began as a small, specialist creative school in the early 1980s has evolved into a multi‑campus university dedicated to music, performing arts, film, creative technology, and related disciplines. Today, my client operates across nine major locations in the UK and Europe, supporting students in developing successful careers in the creative sector. Their portfolio includes undergraduate degrees, professional performing diplomas, and master’s programmes.
The Opportunity
Currently seeking a dynamic Director of Admissions and Recruitment to lead the transformation of their student recruitment and admissions function. This senior role will build and deliver a strategic, data‑driven plan to grow market share across key creative subject areas including music, performing arts, screen and film, and gaming. The Director will ensure the organisation’s resources are aligned to deliver excellence, drive performance, and support an ambitious recruitment vision.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and champion a strategic vision for recruitment and admissions across the organisation.
- Design and implement strategies that achieve student recruitment targets while upholding the institution’s admissions policies and standards.
- Lead the creation of an end‑to‑end recruitment and admissions process, fully utilising the newly deployed Salesforce CRM system.
- Build robust data collection and analytical capability; monitor and report on performance and progress toward new student targets for September 2026.
- Train, mentor, and develop recruitment and admissions teams to strengthen CRM skills, data usage, and overall capability.
- Drive efficiency and cost‑effectiveness across all operations, including return‑on‑investment analysis for recruitment activities.
- Collaborate across departments, ensuring alignment between recruitment aims and broader organisational goals.
Person Specification
- Previous experience in Student Admissions and Recruitment or Higher‑Level education experience.
- Demonstrable track record of improving sales performance against targets.
- Experience embedding a strong sales culture and developing high‑performing teams.
- Commercial and strategic leadership expertise in a sector with a long sales cycle.
- Ability to articulate and communicate a shared vision across diverse internal and external stakeholders.
