Looking for a rural surveying role that will allow you to get out and about across East Anglia, and the East Midlands without being pigeonholed into a particular discipline? Following the winning of a number of new instructions we are looking for up to four land agents to undertake a mix of management, rural agency and valuation with other professional work. These individuals will join our growing rural teams based in Cambridge and Northampton.

Main tasks will include:

  • Servicing an existing workflow of loan security, taxation and specialist valuation advice with an emphasis on Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire but also across the rest of East Anglia from Essex to Lincolnshire and Suffolk to the borders of Warwickshire.
  • Day to day estate management and strategic asset management advice to a mixed portfolio of institutional estates and private land‑owning clients.
  • The marketing, sale and purchase of a range of rural assets including farms and farmland, rural diversified estates, residential, commercial and energy assets; woodland and nature assets; heritage and specialist agricultural assets.
  • A business development focus regionally, with professional and personal contacts; as well as industry specialist firms and secured lending institutions.

What it’s like working for us: You’ll bring your experience and apply it to some exciting client portfolios and projects – from national institutions such as The Crown Estate to Cambridge Colleges, and innovative farming businesses to privately‑owned estates which have been in the family for generations. In doing so, you’ll pick up loads of new experience which will propel your career forwards – whether that’s learning on the job with a team that will both support you and empower you to work autonomously, or through formal training that can be tailored to your needs. You’ll also be joining a team that likes to socialise, whether that’s a pint after work or a barbecue and garden games at one of our homes.

The experience we’re looking for: Rural estates are changing, and this means that we’re able to open applications to a wider pool of people than ever. We are as keen to hear from you if you’re looking to refocus into rural, as we are if you’ve been a rural surveyor since the beginning of your career. If you’re RICS‑qualified and have post‑qualification experience, we can teach you the rest. Got significant experience? Our team is always growing and evolving, so we can work with you to shape a role and a package that works for your experience and goals, and our clients’ needs.
