We’re looking for an enthusiastic Level 2 or Level 3 AAT Apprentice Accountant to join our growing team from January 2027.
This is a full-time, office-based role based in Birchwood, Warrington. From your first day you’ll work alongside experienced accountants, supporting real clients while studying towards your AAT qualification.

What you’ll be doing
As your knowledge and confidence grow, you’ll become involved in:
- Processing bookkeeping using Xero and Apron
- Bank reconciliations
- Preparing VAT returns
- Assisting with payroll processing
- Supporting the preparation of year-end accounts
- Assisting with personal and corporation tax work
- Communicating with clients by telephone and email
- Learning how cloud accounting, automation and AI are used within a modern accountancy practice
- Supporting the team with general administration
You’ll receive full training throughout your apprenticeship.

We’re not looking for someone who already knows everything—we’re looking for someone who asks questions, enjoys learning and takes pride in doing things well.
Entry Requirements
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above preferred)
- Ideally completed or working towards AAT Level 2, or have relevant accounting experience.
What You’ll Learn
During your apprenticeship you’ll gain practical experience in:
- VAT
- Payroll
- Accounts preparation
- Personal and corporation tax
- Client communication
- Professional standards
- Business systems
- AI and automation
You’ll also gain experience using Xero, Apron, BrightPay and Microsoft 365.
Contract Information
This is a fixed-term apprenticeship contract for the duration of the apprenticeship programme.
