Our dedicated clinical negligence team provides a top-quality service to professionals in the healthcare sector and consistently receives top tier rankings in both Chambers and Legal 500 rankings. Through our specialised/multijurisdictional work, we have a deep understanding of the health sector and associated clinical negligence environments. Our extensive experience in this area makes us a trusted and longstanding partner for key clients navigating clinical negligence claims at all Court levels, as evidenced by our regular instruction on many of the most complex, sensitive and high-profile claims in this area of work.

We are investing in and expanding our Healthcare Team in England and are looking for ambitious, motivated legal professionals at all levels who have a passion for healthcare work. Candidates with experience in representing both Defendants and Claimants in clinical negligence claims will be considered, as well as candidates with experience in dealing with catastrophic/high value personal injury litigation (both Claimant and Defendant).

  • Drafting regular client advice reports, to include analysis on all clinical and legal issues, reserves and strategy/recommendations for next steps;
  • Drafting chronologies, pleadings, witness statements, Court documents and settlement agreements;
  • Instructing and consulting/liaising with experts and Counsel, as and when required;
  • Supporting healthcare professionals through all aspects of Court process and the sensitive stages of a claim;
  • Supervising and delegating work to trainee solicitors/paralegals, legal executives and secretarial/support staff as appropriate and ensuring accuracy, timeliness and excellent standards of service delivery;
  • Complying with file management, time recording, billing, confidentiality, data protection, equality and diversity, client service standards and professional conduct requirements;
  • Keeping up to date with developments in clinical negligence, healthcare law, civil litigation procedure, medical practice, healthcare regulation and continuing professional development requirements; and
  • Supporting and engaging with the full Healthcare Team in relation to Business Development activity, related to the healthcare sector, to include article writing and attending/presenting at specialist healthcare events.
