The School of Technical, Construction and Motor Vehicle at Carshalton College is seeking a Workshop Assistant to provide technical support across carpentry, plumbing, electrical installation, bricklaying, multiskills, motor vehicle and motorcycle workshops.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining workshops and equipment within the Construction, Engineering, Motor Vehicle and Motorcycle departments, while also monitoring stock levels and inventory for both equipment and materials. You’ll assist with stock control, coordinate deliveries of equipment and consumables and work closely with academic and technical staff to provide effective support in both the stores and workshops.
We are looking for someone with specialist experience in one or more of the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, bricklaying, motor vehicle and/or motorcycle. The successful candidate will have experience working in a similar environment and possess strong technical knowledge gained from a technician background.
You will hold a vocational or trade qualification to at least NVQ Level 2 in a relevant discipline, such as Carpentry and Joinery, Plumbing, Electrical Installation or another related trade area.
