The Commercial, Creative and Professional School at Carshalton College is seeking a dedicated Lecturer and Team Leader to plan, organise, assess and teach on L1-L3 Creative Arts programmes. As Team Leader, you will be responsible for L1, L2 and/or L3 UAL Creative Media Production, Games Development and Art & Design courses, involving Interval Verification, curriculum development, assessment, evaluation and other administrative duties relating to the post.
You will embed the development of skills (Digital, English and Maths) in teaching practice at all levels and ensure the effective and efficient use of innovative resources allocated to the programmes contributing to the future direction and planning on site and online. As a member of the School Management Team supporting the Deputy Head and Head of School, the Team Leader will support colleagues in the curriculum team to raise the quality of education for all provision and forge links with the industry for visiting speakers and work experience.
We would like you to hold a degree or relevant professional qualifications in an appropriate subject, hold a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards) and have excellent current teaching skills, recognised as a good or better teacher. You will have a proven track record of successful curriculum design, implementation and development in the curriculum area with experience of teaching L1 to L3/4 Creative Media Programs, including BTEC and UAL syllabus.
With a strong vision for the improvement and development of the curriculum area, you will have a thorough understanding of quality assurance and improvement processes and how these can be used to enhance the student experience with a track record of successfully monitoring and supporting at-risk learners to achieve or exceed their potential. With good general IT skills, including familiarity with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email, you will have industrial experience in Adobe Premiere Pro, digital cameras and sound recorders.
This post is primarily based at Carshalton College; however, you may be required to travel to or work from any of the South Thames Colleges Group sites. The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.
