The ESOL, English and Maths Team at Carshalton & Merton Colleges, part of the South Thames Colleges Group, is now looking to appoint a Lecturer in English. The focus of this role is to teach a combination of GCSE English Language and English Functional Skills, predominantly to students aged 16-19 years of age. It will include preparing students for exams, marking homework and mock exams, providing constructive feedback, setting targets for students, monitoring attendance and student progress, and where appropriate, curriculum development.
As our Lecturer in English, we’d like you to hold a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject and have excellent teaching skills in GCSE English and Functional Skills English. You’ll have high personal standards and expectations, have an awareness of academic quality standards and be able to support, motivate and empathise with learners, including monitoring their progress.
