The School of Technical, Construction and Motor Vehicle at Carshalton College is seeking a Lecturer/Assessor in Carpentry to deliver outstanding quality teaching, learning, assessment and tutorial support to students and apprentices to maximise achievement and continuous improvement. This post plays a fundamental role in supporting the development of the curriculum with employer engagement and learner skills development.

You will deliver teaching and assessment activities within the area of carpentry including lectures, setting/marking coursework, practical activities and field work. You will select appropriate assessment methods and criteria, assess the work and progress of students by reference to the criteria and provide constructive feedback to students.

As our Lecturer/Assessor, we would like you to have a thorough understanding of the Carpentry Apprenticeship standard and the assessment process through to End-Point Assessment (EPA) and have experience working in the Carpentry industry. You will hold a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards), have teaching experience in Carpentry in an FE College with interdisciplinary skills and working experience.

With an advanced level of computer literacy and general office software management skills, you will be able to work under pressure and to strict validating body deadlines with effective ability to use initiative, organise and prioritise. You will have effective presentation, delivery and time management skills for a variety of audiences with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both group and interpersonal situations.
