Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our healthcare team, either full time or part time (3 days min). This role involves accurately dispensing medications, providing excellent patient care, and supporting pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a pharmacy technician and a strong commitment to patient safety and confidentiality. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to community health through precise medication management and compassionate service.
Duties
- Prepare and dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with pharmacy protocols
- Assist pharmacists in medication administration and patient consultations
- Maintain organised records of dispensed medications and patient information
- Ensure all prescriptions are correctly labelled and packaged for delivery or collection
- Support inventory management by stock checking and placing orders for pharmaceutical supplies
- Provide guidance and support to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and storage instructions
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, including medication storage standards and confidentiality policies
- Participate in ongoing training programmes to stay updated with pharmaceutical developments and compliance requirements
Skills
- Proven experience as a pharmacy technician or dispenser within a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy software systems
- Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism when interacting with patients
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy in dispensing medications
- Understanding of patient care principles related to medication management
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team and follow strict regulatory guidelines
