We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic team at our SKIPTON Country Store.

This exciting opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about serving and supporting the Rural and Agricultural industry and who wants to assist with the day to day running of the country store alongside an established team, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and standards are achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Organise the warehouse and yard, plus the arrivals and despatches of goods.
  • Actively support other team members to ensure targets and tasks are completed.
  • Deliver good working relationships with all team members.
  • Promote the business and work to a required standard.
  • Follow company procedures to complete tasks without assistance.
  • Work to get routine daily tasks done in time and to the standard required.
  • Follow through customer enquiries, requests and problems and deal with them promptly.
  • Confidently deal with customer problems and establish customer needs.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures in respect of Health, Safety and Environment are adhered to.
  • Be aware of the risks in the work environment and their potential impact on self, colleagues, customers and visitors and take action to address them.
  • Attend training and develop relevant knowledge and skills.
  • Ensure any deliveries required on the van are done in a timely and professional manner.
  • Keep the yard tidy and presentable with stock rotation.
  • When necessary, provide shop counter cover.
  • Ensure all legislation and approved codes of practice in respect to ongoing compliance, including UFAS, FIAS and NOPS assurance schemes.

Essential Qualifications

  • Team player, with a genuine interest in helping others.
  • Continuously looking to improve the yard areas and displays.
  • Full UK driver’s licence so able to do van deliveries to customers.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to liaise between a number of departments.
  • Exceptional customer service skills as dealing with many internal and external customers.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Qualified forklift truck and telehandler driver with experience in actively loading and unloading vehicles.
  • Holds a tachograph card.
  • Holds a CPC driving licence.
  • Agricultural knowledge.
