An exciting opportunity has arisen at our Stone Mill for a motivated individual to ensure that the mill and warehouse are kept clean and tidy along with working in the warehouse organising the feed as is required.

Carr's Billington Agriculture is a subsidiary company of The Billington Group, who are also the proud owner of Criddle & Co., English Provender Company and Billington Foods.
To ensure that all site cleaning and warehouse activities are carried out efficiently and to provide cover duties for other areas of the site, as required due to holiday, sickness or demand, to ensure that the entire site, including the Mill, Warehouse and Weighbridge, can work safely and effectively and meets production demands in terms of volume, efficiency and feed quality in accordance with Company procedures.
- Undertake work in the appropriate area of the production facility as required, be that cleaning, warehouse, mill, maintenance or weighbridge.
- Take responsibility for following operating instructions and procedures in the area of the site that you are working so that plant and machinery is operated at optimum efficiency and finished product meets the quality and safety standards specified.
- Take ownership of taking samples of feed and tote runs as required and carry out tests as specified in any operating instructions.
- Take responsibility of completing Toting Logs and that information is accurate and properly recorded.
- Advise the Production Planner of possible shortages in stock levels.
- Take responsibility of correctly filling, labelling and storing tote bins according to all relevant Operating and HACCP Procedures.
- You will be responsible for warehouse effective stock rotation.
- Take a proactive approach in conjunction with the drivers, to ensure correct and safe loading and unloading of vehicles collecting from, and delivering to the Warehouse.
- Undertake the monitoring of stocks of consumables and inform the Site Manager of requirements.
- Maintain stocks of pallets, empty sacks and other items etc. in a neat and clean condition.
- Ensure there is no possibility of product cross over in the tote plant.
- Adhere to Company and Group policies and procedures, including but not limited to those relating to Safety, Health and Environmental.
- To ensure all relevant legislation and approved codes of practice, are adhered to in respect of ongoing compliance, including but not limited to UFAS, FIAS, & NOPS assurance schemes.
Skills, Experience and Qualities Required:
- Experience of working in an animal feed mill (Desirable).
- Experience working in a busy manufacturing and/or agricultural environment (Desirable).
- Good numeracy skills (Desirable).
- Basic level of IT literacy and ability to learn new systems (Essential).
- Hold FLT licence (Desirable).
- A proactive and flexible approach to work (Essential).
- A 'can do' attitude with the ability to work using your own initiative and as part of a team (Essential).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with key internal stakeholders (Essential).
