Carr's Billington Agriculture is a subsidiary company of The Billington Group, who are also the proud owner of Criddle & Co., English Provender Company and Billington Foods.

To offer complete technical support and play a key part in offering industry leading levels of service to our customers and key stakeholders. Working closely with the Workshop Manager and existing team to ensure smooth running of the Workshop. Day to day technical support role within a busy workshop, covering all of our key brands such as Krone, Weidemann and Merlo by:

  • Taking responsibility for some key day to day processes in line with company guidelines and ensuring smooth communication between all parties.
  • Leading technical support.
  • Be responsible for repairing, diagnosing, maintaining agricultural machinery and equipment from some of the most prestigious agricultural brands.
  • Diagnosing and repairing problems with machinery and equipment ensuring machinery will operate to a high standard in alignment with manufacturer specification to a high level of accuracy.
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance as required across the business.
  • Maintaining on-call service and offer out of hours support as required.
  • Working within the workshop or in the field/on farm as required.
  • Ensuring Dealer Standards are maintained across the department and maintaining a clean and efficient working environment.
  • Maintaining a strong working relationship with all machinery departments ensuring work quality, accuracy and deadlines are met.
  • Adhering to Company and Group policies and procedures, including but not limited to those relating to Safety, Health and Environmental.
  • Any other task associated with the efficient technical support of a Workshop.

Skills, Experience and Qualities Required:

  • Written skills - proven ability to use clear, concise language specific for the purpose and audience.
  • Flexibility with working hours during busy seasons and weekends.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to consult, negotiate and liaise with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage change and to adapt to unexpected demands on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ability to assess priorities and manage competing deadlines both independently and as a member of a team.
  • An ability to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines with a 'can-do' attitude.
  • An appropriate recognised apprenticeship with recognised and certificated qualifications for servicing and repairing machinery from leading manufacturers.
  • Flexibility and an ability to adapt to working both on customer premises and in our workshop.
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Confident IT user, including a working knowledge of diagnostic software.
  • People who are experienced with equipment and machinery from any other sector.
