We are looking for a customer-focused and sales-driven Parts Advisor to join our team at our Cockermouth Branch, supporting the Parts Manager in the day-to-day operation of a busy and fast-moving Parts Department. This is a part-time (32 hours per week) role that will include Saturday working on a rota basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working front of house, has a passion for machinery and groundcare products, and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service. You will work closely with key brands including CanAm, Stihl and Groundcare equipment, supporting both external customers and internal teams while helping to drive sales and department performance.

The Job Reporting to the Parts Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the Parts Department. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Parts Manager in driving and maintaining industry-leading customer service standards for both internal and external customers
- Acting as front of house for the machinery retail areas within the branch
- Proactively growing parts and accessories sales, supporting margin optimisation
- Delivering high-quality counter service and telesales, using all available platforms to identify and source parts and accessories
- Maintaining efficient internal working practices, including goods inwards and fast-moving stock placement
- Supporting stockholding processes and stock take procedures
- Collaborating with the central machinery management team on projects and budget delivery
- Supporting the growth of Stihl and Groundcare sales within the branch
- Assisting with administrative duties across both the Parts and Workshop departments
- Undertaking any other tasks associated with the efficient operation of the Parts Department
You will also be expected to adhere to all Company and Group policies and procedures, including those relating to Safety, Health and Environmental standards, and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and codes of practice.
Essential β Skills, Experience and Qualities
- Proven sales experience, with the ability to confidently sell, advise and problem-solve for customers
- Previous experience in customer relationship management
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to use clear and concise language appropriate to the audience
- Confident IT user, with working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and manage competing deadlines, both independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- Experience within a parts, machinery, automotive, agricultural or groundcare environment
- Product knowledge of Stihl, CanAm or similar brands
