We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Master Technician to join our Service Department at Carr's Billington Machinery Depot, Annan. This is a key role within the business, offering the opportunity to lead technical support across a defined customer area while working with industry brands including Massey Ferguson, Weidemann, Krone, BVL, HiSpec and Major. Working closely with the Service Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the Service Department, delivering industry-leading levels of technical expertise, customer care and support. You will act as a technical authority within the team, building strong customer relationships and supporting colleagues across Aftersales and Sales.

The Job: As Master Technician, you will take ownership of technical support and customer service delivery across a busy workshop and field-based operation. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing lead technical support, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining agricultural machinery and equipment to manufacturer standards
- Working with premium agricultural brands, ensuring all machinery operates to a high level of accuracy and performance
- Taking responsibility for key day-to-day service processes, ensuring clear communication between customers, workshop, parts and sales teams
- Working both in the workshop and in the field/on farm, as required
- Owning the Customer Care process for linked customers, ensuring strong engagement and long-term relationships
- Building and maintaining key customer networks, working closely with other Aftersales team members and the Sales department
- Ensuring Dealer Standards are met and maintaining a clean, safe and efficient working environment
- Participating in on-call rotas and providing out-of-hours support when required
- Identifying opportunities to maximise budgets and performance targets
- Maintaining a strong working relationship with the Parts Department, supporting efficient job completion
- Supporting the Sales Department with technical enquiries, advice and machinery installations
- Undertaking any other tasks associated with the efficient technical support of the Service Department
You will be expected to adhere to all Company and Group policies and procedures, including those relating to Safety, Health and Environmental standards, and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and manufacturer requirements.
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualities Required:
- Excellent working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Proven experience diagnosing and repairing agricultural machinery in a commercial environment
- Confident IT user, including working knowledge of diagnostic software
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and accurate technical documentation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Ability to manage change, adapt to unexpected demands and prioritise workload effectively
- Experience working independently, managing time and competing deadlines
- Flexibility to work extended hours during busy seasons and weekends, as required
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Manufacturer training or accreditation with Massey Ferguson, Weidemann, Krone or related brands
- Experience mentoring or supporting less experienced technicians
