Agricultural & Rural Sales Advisor – Country Store
Join Carrs Billington Agriculture (Sales) Ltd. in our Penicuik Country Store as a part‑time Agricultural & Rural Sales Advisor. The role involves supporting the day‑to‑day running of the store, delivering excellent customer service, and actively promoting and driving sales across a wide range of agriculture‑related products.

The Job
- Actively promote and drive the sales of all products, maximizing profitability across the branch and via telecommunications.
- Deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external customers by understanding their needs, providing recommendations with integrity, and delivering first‑rate solutions.
- Exceed customer expectations by loading orders and performing manual‑handling duties safely and within capability.
- Assist the branch in ensuring routine tasks are completed, and provide flexibility to support other duties such as warehouse or delivery tasks.
- Liaise with other staff to ensure smooth trading relationships.
- Support and contribute to the effective operation of the business, maintaining adequate levels of stocked products in conjunction with the branch manager.
- Promote the company brand and uphold recognised business standards.
- Adhere to company and group policies and procedures, including safety, health and environmental requirements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and approved codes of practice (e.g., UFAS, FIAS, NOPS).
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualities Required
- Excellent customer service skills and appreciation for our customer base.
- Organised approach to work with the ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of agriculture and retail operations.
- Demonstrable experience of working in a retail environment.
- Practical problem‑solving ability.
- Flexible approach to work and willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
- Team player with a genuine interest in helping others.
Desirable
- AMTRA qualification (training can be provided).
- Confident and competent user of Microsoft applications and fully IT literate.
- Previous experience with D365.
