Responsible for assisting the Project Quantity Surveyor in cost planning and commercial management throughout the entire life cycle of the project from inception to post-completion.
Our client is extremely busy across Kent, London and the South East for a well-established civil engineering contractor. This is a great opportunity to join a company as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor who gives young people a great opportunity and can offer strong career progression.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Quantity Surveyors in preparation of interim and final accounts.
- Assist in the receipt of payments once interim accounts are certified.
- Assist in the production of monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVP) reports.
- Assist Project Quantity Surveyors in managing day-to-day commercial and contract activities.
- Assist Project Quantity Surveyors in sub-contract procurement ensuring best value.
- Assist Project Quantity Surveyors in sub-contract valuations and final accounts.
- Learn the working practices of NEC 3 and JCT Conditions of Contract.
- Assist in gathering information for preparation of compensation events/variations (depending on form of contract).
- Assist in the production of EoT’s and L & E Claims.
- Prepare C47’s and C66’s (SC Payment Notices).
- Develop understanding of programmes and sequencing of construction activities.
- Ability to undertake site measures when required.
- Work closely with operational teams.
- Be able to work clearly and accurately under pressure and to tight timescales.
- Be able to think logically and laterally.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
