An established and growing pharmaceutical organisation is seeking an experienced Private Account Manager to drive commercial success within the private and self-pay healthcare sector. This is a senior, field-based role focused on expanding market presence, increasing product uptake, and developing strategic partnerships across private clinics, GPs, pharmacies, hospital groups, and online healthcare platforms.

The Role

  • You will take ownership of a defined territory while also contributing to national account initiatives.
  • Working cross-functionally with marketing, medical, finance, legal, and sales teams, you will develop and execute strategic business and account plans aligned to revenue objectives.
  • This role requires a commercially astute professional who understands how to navigate the private healthcare landscape and can lead value-driven conversations with clinical and commercial stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic account plans to achieve and exceed sales targets within the private and self-pay market.
  • Identify and unlock new business opportunities across private clinics, GP networks, hospital groups, and online doctor and pharmacy platforms.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clinical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Negotiate pricing structures and manage end-to-end contracting processes in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Use CRM systems, analytics, and digital tools to optimise customer engagement and account activation.
  • Deliver accurate forecasting, territory planning, and KPI reporting.
  • Educate healthcare professionals on the appropriate and compliant use of promoted products.
  • Attend key industry meetings and represent the organisation within the private healthcare sector.

About You

  • Significant experience promoting healthcare products, ideally prescription medicines.
  • Experience in diagnostics or medical device sales will also be considered.
  • Strong understanding of the UK and Ireland private or self-pay healthcare market.
  • Demonstrated success in account management, territory growth, and revenue delivery.
  • ABPI qualification is desirable.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Confident using CRM systems, data analytics, and omnichannel tools to inform account strategy.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across territory and nationally.
