Manager – Operations & Data | Real-World Evidence

Manchester or London – £45,000 + Benefits

Are you experienced in clinical research data management, with a strong understanding of Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems, data integrity and compliance?

We're supporting a well-established global healthcare research consultancy looking to appoint an Operations Manager (Data) within its Real-World Evidence team. This could suit an experienced Clinical Data Specialist, Data Manager or EDC Systems professional looking to take on broader responsibility for data management processes and systems oversight.

The role will focus on overseeing EDC systems, supporting research teams with data management processes and ensuring best practice around data integrity, compliance and quality across observational research studies.

Role Summary

You'll work across a team delivering bespoke observational research studies for pharmaceutical clients, providing specialist support and guidance on EDC systems, data management and operational processes.

The position sits independently of the project management teams, allowing you to provide oversight of data management practices, support internal reviews and advise colleagues on appropriate systems and processes.

The role is less focused on hands‑on data analysis or statistical programming and more around ensuring research data is collected, managed and maintained appropriately.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing EDC systems and supporting their effective use across research studies
  • Providing guidance to project teams on data management processes and best practice
  • Ensuring appropriate standards of data integrity, quality and compliance
  • Supporting the design and development^ of study data collection materials
  • Managing and coordinating access to EDC systems
  • Monitoring and supporting internal study reviews and data management processes
  • Liaising with internal research teams and external research partners
  • Ensuring appropriate study documentation and adherence to relevant guidelines and procedures
  • Identifying opportunities to improve internal systems, processes and operational efficiencies
  • Supporting teams in resolving data management and systems‑related queries

Requirements

The key requirement is strong experience in clinical or pharmaceutical research data management, particularly involving EDC systems and an understanding of data integrity and compliance.

  • Previous experience in clinical research, pharmaceutical or healthcare data management
  • Strong working knowledge of Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems
  • Good understanding of data integrity, quality assurance and compliance principles
  • Experience supporting the delivery of clinical or healthcare research studies
  • Ability to advise colleagues on data management processes and best practice
  • Experience maintaining study documentation and following established procedures

Experience in Real-World Evidence (RWE), observational research studies or EDC system design/configuration would be particularly advantageous.

The team is also open to considering candidates from clinical trials or CRO environments, provided they have strong transferable data management and EDC systems experience.

What's in it for you?

This could be an interesting opportunity for someone looking to move beyond day‑to‑day clinical data management into a position with greater responsibility for EDC systems oversight, data integrity and operational best practice.

You'll work across a variety of observational research studies, supporting different project teams and acting as a key point of contact for data management and systems-related matters.

The independent nature of the role also provides an opportunity to contribute to process improvement, quality standards and the wider development of data management practices within an established healthcare research consultancy.

Location & Package

The role can be based in either Cheshire (preferred), or London.

This is a hybrid working opportunity - 2-3 days a week in the office.

£45,000, alongside a wider benefits package.
