The Opportunity

Are you an experienced healthcare market researcher looking for an opportunity to join a growing agency where you can have a genuine impact? We’re working with a rapidly growing global healthcare insights and strategy agency looking to add a Research Manager to its UK team. They’re known for combining high-quality pharmaceutical market research with a genuinely innovative approach to how research is designed and delivered. Alongside traditional methodologies, the team is continually exploring new technology, digital approaches and AI to enhance the quality, efficiency and impact of their work.

This is first and foremost a healthcare market research role, so they’re looking for a strong researcher who can confidently manage projects and clients, but who is also curious, proactive and excited by new ways of working.

The role

As Research Manager, you’ll take day-to-day ownership of a variety of healthcare and pharmaceutical market research projects, working closely with senior members of the team while having plenty of autonomy to manage your own work. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing healthcare/pharma market research projects from brief through to final delivery
  • Taking ownership of timelines, budgets and day-to-day client communication
  • Working across multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Designing research approaches and contributing to proposals and costings
  • Independently writing screeners, discussion guides, questionnaires and debriefs
  • Working across both qualitative and quantitative methodologies
  • Moderating qualitative interviews
  • Analysing and interpreting research findings
  • Producing engaging reports and turning insight into clear implications and recommendations
  • Confidently presenting findings and debriefs to clients
  • Building strong relationships with pharmaceutical and healthcare clients
  • Looking for opportunities to add value and grow existing client relationships
  • Line managing, mentoring and developing more junior researchers
  • Embracing technology and AI tools to improve efficiency and the quality of research
  • Bringing new ideas, methodologies and ways of working to the wider team

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally have 4+ years’ experience within healthcare/pharmaceutical market research and be at Research Manager level already, or an experienced Senior Research Executive ready to take the next step. You’ll need strong research fundamentals and the confidence to take ownership of projects rather than waiting to be told what to do. They’re particularly interested in people who are:

  • Experienced across healthcare/pharma market research
  • Comfortable working across both qualitative and quantitative methodologies
  • Strong project managers who can keep several projects moving at once
  • Confident communicating directly with clients and leading day-to-day project conversations
  • Able to write high-quality research materials independently
  • Strong at analysis, storytelling and report writing
  • Confident moderators and presenters
  • Proactive, organised and great with detail
  • Independent thinkers who are comfortable speaking up and giving an opinion
  • Interested in technology, AI and how new approaches can enhance traditional market research
  • Comfortable mentoring and developing more junior researchers
  • Positive, collaborative and genuinely enjoy being part of a team

Why join?

This is a growing international agency with the feel and freedom of a scale-up rather than a large, traditional research business. You’ll have the autonomy to take ownership of your work, exposure to interesting pharmaceutical clients and the opportunity to play a genuine part in how the business continues to develop. Innovation is encouraged rather than just talked about. They want people who will question how things have always been done, try new approaches and continually look for ways to deliver better work for clients. The culture is built around being brave, being proud of the work you produce and succeeding together as a team. They want ambitious people, but equally people who are generous with their time, support their colleagues and want the wider team to succeed.

If you’re an experienced healthcare market researcher looking for somewhere you can take more ownership, develop your client exposure and be part of an agency doing things differently, we’d love to hear from you.
