Our client, a respected MEP subcontractor delivering compliant, quality building services on a residential development in Greater London, is looking to appoint an experienced MEP Contracts Manager to take ownership of coordination and act as the key link between the client, design team, and on-site delivery.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership position where you’ll oversee the technical and commercial performance of MEP packages while ensuring smooth communication between the subcontractor team and the client’s design and project leadership. You’ll champion buildability, resolve design queries, guide installation teams, and help maintain programme and quality targets across the development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the client, design consultants, and internal delivery teams.
  • Lead coordination of mechanical, electrical systems to ensure design intent is achievable on site.
  • Review drawings, raise RFIs, and contribute to design workshops to eliminate clashes and clarify technical requirements.
  • Oversee subcontractor site teams, ensuring installation meets technical standards and follows programme milestones.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and support commercial teams with variations, valuations, and reporting.
  • Drive commissioning readiness and support smooth handover of completed MEP systems.

Requirements

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong background delivering MEP/fit out packages for a subcontractor, ideally on residential or mixed-use schemes.
  • Confident in design review, client communication, and managing technical issues proactively.
  • Able to coordinate multiple disciplines and maintain momentum across fast-moving work fronts.
  • Skilled in managing expectations with main contractors, consultants, and site teams.
  • Detail-focused with a practical understanding of installation sequencing and commissioning.
