Are you an experienced Finance Assistant or Bookkeeper looking for your next opportunity within a well-established organisation? Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join their team on a 12-month basis. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of a busy organisation, ensuring financial processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with established procedures.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers, including processing invoices and monitoring outstanding payments
  • Processing BACS payments accurately and within required deadlines
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
  • Managing petty cash, banking activities, and account reconciliations
  • Assisting with budget preparation, monitoring, and financial reporting
  • Supporting month-end and year-end finance processes
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and management information
  • Assisting with payroll administration, procurement activities, and supplier contracts
  • Supporting audit preparation and ensuring compliance with financial procedures
  • Maintaining asset registers, insurance records, and financial systems
  • Producing reports and supporting colleagues across the wider organisation

What We're Looking For

  • AAT qualification or equivalent finance experience
  • Previous experience within Finance, Accounts, Bookkeeping, or a similar financial role
  • Strong understanding of invoicing, reconciliations, payment processing, and financial administration
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Experience using financial systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to work
  • Experience within the public sector or a regulated environment would be advantageous
